Photography Contest Celebrating the 170th Anniversary of Thailand–France Diplomatic Relations Under the Theme: “Trait d’Union: Connecting Thai–French Relations in Everyday Life”

  1. Contest Organizer
    The photography contest celebrating the 170th anniversary of diplomatic relations between
    Thailand and France (the “Contest”) is organized by the Department of European Affairs,
    Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand (the “Organizer”).
  2. Contest Theme
    Submitted photographs must reflect the relationship between Thailand and France at either
    the governmental or people-to-people level. Entries may portray such connections through
    ways of life, work, education, culture, cuisine, art, traditions, architecture, urban spaces, or any
    other context demonstrating the linkages between the two countries.
    The photographs may represent these connections directly or through creative and symbolic
    interpretation. Examples include the coexistence of Thai and French cultural elements within
    the same setting, the blending of both lifestyles in a single scene, or images illustrating the
    influence of one culture within the context of the other, thereby reflecting the close ties
    between the two nations.
  3. Eligibility
    3.1 The Contest is open to the general public residing in Thailand, without restriction as to age
    or nationality.
    3.2 Officials of the Organizer and members of the judging panel shall not be eligible to
    participate.
    3.3 Participants must strictly comply with these Terms and Conditions.
  4. Submission Requirements
    4.1 Each participant may submit no more than ten (10) photographs.
    4.2 All photographs must be original works taken by the participants.
    4.3 Entries must not infringe upon any copyright, trademark, privacy right, or any other rights
    of third parties.
    4.4 Reasonable image adjustments are permitted; however, images generated by artificial
    intelligence (AI) or created using AI image-generation tools are strictly prohibited.
    4.5 Image files must be high resolution (at least 300 dpi) in JPEG format, or in any additional
    format as specified by the Organizer.
    4.6 The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify entries that do not comply with the technical
    requirements.
  5. Content Restrictions
    Photographs must not:
    5.1 Contain illegal, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise inappropriate content;
    5.2 Constitute advertising for goods or services;
    5.3 Violate applicable laws or public morals.
  1. Judging Criteria
    6.1 Entries will be judged by a panel appointed by the Organizer.
    6.2 Evaluation criteria include relevance to the theme, creativity, originality, artistic value, and
    technical quality.
    6.3 The decision of the judging panel shall be final.
  2. Prizes
    7.1 The winning and selected photographs will be exhibited at the exhibition “Trait d’Union:
    Connecting Thai–French Relations in Everyday Life”, to be held from 12–24 May 2026 at the
    Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, Pathum Wan.
    7.2 The first-place winner will receive two round-trip economy class air tickets on the
    Bangkok–Paris–Bangkok route.
    7.3 The second-place winner will receive one round-trip economy class air ticket on the
    Bangkok–Paris–Bangkok route.
    7.4 The third-place winner will receive a one-night stay in a Club Millésime room including
    breakfast for two persons, together with a dining voucher at Bella Sera, courtesy of Sofitel
    Bangkok Sukhumvit.
    7.5 Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and may not be redeemed for cash.
    7.6 Use of the air tickets shall be subject to the airline’s terms and conditions, including
    validity period and seat availability.
  3. Rights to Use Submitted Works
    8.1 Participants grant the Organizer the right to reproduce, publish, display, and otherwise use
    the submitted works for official purposes and public relations activities related to the Contest
    and Thailand–France relations, without additional compensation. The Organizer shall ensure
    that appropriate credit is given to the creator of each work.
    8.2 Selected photographs will be exhibited at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre,
    Pathum Wan.
    8.3 Copyright of the submitted works shall remain with the creator.
  4. Disqualification
    The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
    9.1 Submits copied works, infringes copyright, or submits AI-generated images;
    9.2 Violates any of these Terms and Conditions;
    9.3 Provides false information.
  5. Liability
    The Organizer shall not be liable for any damages arising from participation in the Contest or
    from the use of any prize, except as otherwise provided by law.
  6. Amendments
    The Organizer reserves the right to amend or modify these Terms and Conditions as deemed
    appropriate without prior notice.
  7. Acceptance of Terms
    Submission of an entry to the Contest shall constitute confirmation that the participant has read,
    understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.
